Christmas Every Month

Some of us are making gifts for Christmas throughout the year
so we can take are time and make what we would really
want to give.
Sylvia was asked by a friend if she would make her a
Striped Christmas Runner with all the ribbons she had been saving
 from gifts and chocolates.
Sylvia has made many of these now.
I teach Christmas Runners from the start of September,
so they can be made in time for Christmas.
I add and demonstrate a new pattern each year at classes.
I already have an idea for this years!!!
Click on the written label below
to see a collection of table runners.

Stripes

These are mother and daughter projects. Mother is making a
table runner in blue and purple strips and daughter
is making a 24" by 56" striped wall hanging in rich colours and
fabrics. lots of textures and trimmings.
Very different ideas but the same technique.

Kims Striped Cushions

On Monday 19th I put the finishing touches to
Kim's cushions. She wanted ones to match her
newly decorated Living Room and using the
off cuts from her cream textured curtains.
I delivered these on the Wednesday when I went to
the last Card Making session of the year
@The Gallery.
Kim was very pleased with them.

Several students have been making the striped cushions.
They have been using different types of materials
and techniques within the project. It is so lovely that
everyone is so different even though they start with

Sara's Finished Work

Sara has worked hard since September
completing several different projects
which take many hours to complete.
They are beautiful!
The Strip Patchwork Butterfly Wall Hanging,
is Sara's first go at scrap bag patchwork and
free machine quilting.
The Pink Notebook was a piece of felt,
embellished using an
Embellisher Machine and lots of lovely
scraps of fabric, then
machine embroidered. Sara then added
more embellishments by hand.
The top photograph is a wall hanging based
on crazy patchwork and a corset shape.
Lots to follow as Sara forms her portfolios
and sketchbooks.

Sara Working Hard

Sara has been coming to The Gallery for a month and has
done so much in that short time.
Sara has chosen the theme of Butterflies and
has created so many lovely pages for her sketchbooks
and for future inspiration.
The piece at the top is the cover for a sketchbook
where you add your own pages.
The fabric for the striped patchwork came straight
out of the scrap bag and Sara had her first go at
Free Machining she is a natural!
So watch this space!

Diary Cover Finished

I finished putting the diary cover together today.
It looks really good and will be great to put all
my teaching dates in.
As Judy commented before,
"A cover makes them more personal".
