101 Quilts

I am catching up blogging so will fill you in with some more of
my creative shared days.
I was invited to talk about my 101 Quilts at t Sewing Group at
North Elham.
A lovely group of ladies who really wanted to know how they
were made and techniques.
As you can see by the pile of quilts on the table it was a small venue.
Janet's "Shed" as she calls it, a converted cottage in the garden.
A lovely space for creating textiles and sharing with friends.
I had a lovely afternoon and we finished with tea and cake!
Thank you so much for inviting me and the donation to
my charities.

Alveva Quilters and Annette Morgan

Alveva Quilters of Feltwell meet once a month, on the third Wednesday at 7pm and we have some wonderful evenings with 'Show and Tell' and then often a speaker or technique led evening. We were lucky enough to have Annette Morgan come to share her work and her latest inspiration with us.
Annette is also a City and Guilds teacher so her knowledge of quilting and textiles is vast. We all had a wonderful evening and the group brought her DVD for our library box. Thank you Annette for sharing your work and time with us. You will often see Annette at shows and Exhibitions be sure to say, 'hello' or visit her website HERE

Kings Lynn Embroidery Guild

On the 29th February was The Kings Lynn Embroidery Guild
meeting and Pauline Wrighton came along to,
'Share a Stitch', which meant her giving a short talk
on how she became a full time artist and then
putting her 11 years of sketchbooks and workbooks
on the tables so that we could look through and be inspired.
Pauline came round and chatted and gave us some great
tips.
The one for me was to buy similar ring bound sketchbooks
and cut between the rings so that the pages
can be taken out and moved around as necessary,
especially when comprising a themed book!
Thank you Pauline for an interesting evening.

My talk to The Hackers Tackers and Stuffers Quilt and Needlework Group

There was no Gallery and Textile Day on Tuesday the
22nd of November as I took my Mum to have both eyes lazered.
Mum's ok but it does take it out of you having an op,
especially on your eyes.
We had spent all weekend together as Stewart
and I had re decorated Mum's Kitchen and it had taken
her mind of it but now she could recover with a
lovely new kitchen.
In the evening I gave a talk to
Hackers Tackers and Stuffers over at Watton.
A lovely group and very active in creating.
I shared my 180 quilts with the ladies.
I start with a hexagon quilt that I made when Stewart and I
first got married, above and
then I show different quilts, hangings and items over
the last 24 years.
It was a lovely evening and see the groups

Methwold Quilting Group

On Wednesday evening I gave a talk at Methwold Quilters.

I showed around 180 quilted items and there was something to

inspire everyone.

The ladies are wonderful and have invited me back next month to

Embroidery Guild Talk

This Wednesday evening I gave a talk to my local Embroidery Guild,
in Kings Lynn.
I was asked to talk about my Quilts of Quilters Cottage.
I took over a hundred quilts and enjoyed telling the stories
behind them.
It was lovely as I am a member and the group had loads of questions and
were really lovely.
Thank you Barbara for taking photos.
I am not one for having photos of me but I hid behind
my wares 'quilts', a lot of the evening!
