Pink Crazy Patchwork Cushion

Well done, Brenda for finishing this beautiful pink inspired
crazy patchwork cushion for your Grand Daughter.
I encourage finishing of projects. It gives you a boost
and sense of achievement, especially when you can share.
There is a lot of creativity sharing @ The Gallery,
I think because of it's great atmosphere.
This will only increase with moving to the new venue at
The Memorial Hall, this, renovation, to Art and Community Centre,
is coming on well and should be completed by November.
We are all looking forward to the new location.
I am involved in The Memorial Quilt which is
going to hang in the Hall.

Crazy Patchwork Scissor Case

Barbara loves 'Bling' and admired my Scissor Case which
holds my sewing kit and scissors.
It is in the top photograph. I made it ten years ago, from
Jennifer's pink velvet trousers.
It is covered with crazy work patchwork and lots of
trimmings and trinkets.
You can see Barbara has made the back and front
and they are ready to be embellished.
I am available to teach this as a workshop,
to a group or at my studio.
Contact me for details.

add to this. it is going to be wallhanging
approximately 40" square.
I am finding differentareas of interest all the time.
I,ll show you the progression and finished result shortly.

I think seeing all the crazywork from the Round Robin

Here is a section of the centre panel.

Round Robin Reveal

Alveva night was very exciting for members of the group as it was
the reveal ofthe Crazywork Round Robin.
We were all eager to open our boxes and
went into another room to look at what suprises we had.
Everyone of them were different and lovely in there own way.
We were all so pleased at our quilts to be!
Mine is the green and brown one,
at the front of the picture.
Everyone chose a theme or colour of fabrics and trimmings
to put in their box
along with a sample of their own square to give
the others in the group an idea of what we were
thinking of. Mine was based in nature and Asian Textiles.
We then showed the rest of the group.

Crazywork Beginnings

It's been a very busy week and I wanted to delve into
some colour and stitch on the machine.
This is the start of a sketchbook cover.
This is the week that our Crazywork Round Robin finishes,
and I think is in the back of my mind.
I am really looking forward to seeing the blocks come back.
I haven't seen them for 8 months!

Crazywork Square For This Month

As some of you know I am doing a Crazywork Patchwork Round Robin with 8 members of Alveva Quilt Group and this is the square I made for Barbara. Her bag contained all silk fabrics which felt wonderful but did have the fray factor too!
Her inspirational block was very crisp and precise so this was a different one for me to achieve this month again. Only two more swaps before we get our own boxes back.
oOo! how exciting.

March Crazywork Round Robin

As some of you know I am doing a Crazywork Round Robin and this is my square for this month.
Jenny's box is a Christmas Crazy Quilt block and every square has to contain the red and white stripe with the holly on it. I enjoyed doing this one even if it is March. We swap boxes tonight at Alveva Quilt Group. Wonder what is in the next box? We've got three more boxes to go before we get our own ones back in June and then the big reveal!

Crazywork Detail

I've enjoyed working in these colours, Yvonne's going to have to close her eyes if she visits this post!

Crazywork Square

Went to Brightlingsea in Essex yesterday for a wonderful brunch with Mum and Dad in law and their friends. It was lovely meeting and catching up. In the evening I finished sewing on the lace motif and embellishing it with beads.
At Alveva's a quilt group which I belong to, eight of us are sharing in a round robin, crazywork challenge. We each made up a box of fabrics, trimmings, threads and beads which we make a block in our chosen idea and then pass it on to the other members each month. We don't see our box until the end so it will be a really exciting reveal at our garden party in the summer.
