Pat went to a Quilters Guild meeting where they asked

if people could cover books or wrap books for 

The Guild raffle in August,

at The Festival of Quilts, NEC Birmingham.

Documentation Day 17th March

The Quilters Guild Documentation Day at Swaffham Priory was fantastic. We all enjoyed seeing all the amazing quilts and learning their history but also investigating about the makers , fabrics and eras they were made in.
The quilts came from all round the world. There were two raffle quilts and they were a lovely addition to anyones collection. One of them had been made in Norfolk.

Betty Ball

Ros Peedle is our Region 9 Co-Ordinator at the moment.

She is nearing her 3 year post and

Betty Ball has come forward to take over the role in May.

Betty is a bit of a celebrity at the moment as she has a

quilt hanging in the Layers Exhibition in York at

The Quilter's Guild Museum.

Betty is a member of The New Horizons Textile Group.

Quilters Guild Region 9 Committee Meeting

On February the 1st we had our Committee meeting for

Region 9 of the Quilters Guild.

Lots of things to discuss and new ventures being

planned.

One of the things on many of our minds is,

'The Block of The Month", designed by

Jacquie Harvey a Quilter from Norfolk.

The Block of The Month is open to anyone and you can

start at any time.

The funds raised are helping the Region 9 put

on events.

The one above is in the process of being embroidered

and beaded by Ros Peedle.

Committee meeting

On Wednesday 14th of September I had several appointments

and I was teaching evening class at Knit Wits.

I am a new member of The Quilters Guild Region Nine Committee.

We met at Betty Stacey's home,

(Thank you, to Betty for your hospitality).

Before the meeting started Betty Ball

showed us her Quilters Washings line that

had been hanging in the museum garden as

an environmental art project.

Betty had a little fun with us and then showed us

how the fabric had faded with the original fabric colours

and how they had changed.

It had held up really well considering it

was hanging outside for 9 months!

I love the Region's Wall Hanging above.
