BA Fine Art Show 2011

Last night my friend Michelle and little Lexi were invited to
The Private View of The BA Fine Art Show for 2011 at
the Kings Lynn Arts Centre.
As past BA Students we had both exhibited there and
it is always great to see the new ideas and students shows.
The Show was as dynamic as ever, filling all of the four
Gallery Spaces!
Chris Williams talked to us about his work which many
were drawn to. It is based on Still Life Images of everyday
objects which are then abstracted and re- arranged in sections.
These are then reproduced using different thicknesses of media
such as card, plaster and concrete, they were outstanding pieces of
work.
Good Luck to all Art Students!

Newmarket Art and Craft Show
On the way home from the Quilt Show we travel through
Newmarket and decided to go to the Art and Craft Show.
It's like the opposite to Chilford Quilt Show.
Contemporary and glossy artworks and gifts.
Lots to see and buy especially in the food halls!
The tasters were great.
Jenn had the biggest donut ever!
We went up to the top floor and visited
Artist in Residence Roz Lowe.
A ceramics artist, who makes original ceramic
garden worlds. They are like miniature fairy gardens.
I brought an empty pot with a miniature house and garden on it
to put some baby house leeks in.
Her creativity and energy is so wonderful.
Thank you Roz for sharing.
Roz doesn't have a website yet,
maybe one day.

Megs Garden
Meg Bowne.
She creates wonderful pictures out of textile and paper.
Some are stitched and incredibly detailed.
This one was made for Alveva's Garden Party Challenge.
Meg is going to display some of her pictures at
Alveva's Exhibition in October.
It is going to be a wonderful Textile Exhibition.
It was a lovely afternoon with Meg in her inspirational home.
She showed me her garage studio,
her garden studio for mosaic making
and her indoor creating space for storing her quilts,
textile art and jewelry making.
See more of the places I have visited this month for
inspiration on previous posts.
