Strip Patchwork

Brenda, in between making crazy patchwork cushions for her family
decided to make a Knitting Needle Roll Case for her friends birthday.
My finished one is on the top of her strip patchwork.
This strip patchwork is the base for the roll case.
Students ask me for ideas and often I have an item in mind
and can show them for inspiration.
I think it is always good to see the actual item in front
of you so you can see and be shown how to make it.

Gallery day 14th June 2011

Gallery Day was a bit quiet this week as some of the group
were on holiday.
Pat and Sylvia took the opportunity to work on the machines and
get to grips with new techniques.
The patchwork square above is 19" by 19" and
was made out of the scraps from one of my 50p bags.
It took Sylvia an hour to choose where to put the pieces
and sew it together which seemed like magic to the others!
Sylvia loves patchwork and is now enjoying real
high colour in her work.
I wonder where that comes from?

Jack's Quilt

You saw the pile of fabrics I had collected together
on a previous post? Here is Jack's Quilt pieced together.
It is now ready for quilting.
The inspiration for the colours and design came from
the Blue and Green Quillow on the right of this post.
I took it outside to photograph because I couldn't
get higher enough to photograph all of it.
Jack's Quilt is a large single.
