Documentation Day 17th March

The Quilters Guild Documentation Day at Swaffham Priory was fantastic. We all enjoyed seeing all the amazing quilts and learning their history but also investigating about the makers , fabrics and eras they were made in.
The quilts came from all round the world. There were two raffle quilts and they were a lovely addition to anyones collection. One of them had been made in Norfolk.
Visit a collection of quilts which are at The Quilters Guild of The British Isles at York.

Blue and Green Quilts

Yesterday, I began quilting the centre of Jack's Quilt and managed
to complete that section by the end of the afternoon.
I don't often sit and machine quilt all day because of
aching!
I took this photograph of the three Blue and Green Quilts
together to show the size difference.
The Quillow is at the back, Jack's Quilt is on the table
and the miniature quilt I made on Sunday Evening.
Stewart helped cut all the tiny pieces.
It is 17" by 21"
It's got to have bias binding put on.

Sylvia's Quilt

Sylvia has nearly finished her first quilt.
It is for her Great Grand Child that is due this month.
She has never made a quilt before so she is really pleased.

Carol's Finished Sun Bonnet Wallhanging

Carol's finished her Sun Bonnet Sue Wallhanging
for her daughter. With this wallhanging she learnt
many new techniques including applique with
Bonda Webb/Wonder Webb. Bias Binding making.
and 'Hatch Quilting' with her machine foot and gauge.
I love the colours and I am sure her daughter will love it too!
Well done Carol!
