Embellished Felt

Brenda started last week @The Gallery by
embellishing a background fabric in all blues
with a hint of green.
She had in mind to make her friend a gift which was
so unique and different to anything she had given before.
Brenda had admired the embellished needlecases and
started. Well first session went so quick
for her she embellished her felt and then
mastered embroidery stitches on my sewing machine.
This week was the flowers, leaves and beading.
Inside is lined and has felt pages.
I think it is really beautiful and feels
wonderful to hold.
Her friend is very lucky.
Well done Brenda!

Embellished Needlecase

Stella made an embellished felt needlecase.
She had a very small one which had been made
for her by a Brownie over 20 years ago.
(See picture above)
It was a shame to put this aside so
it was sewn inside the new case.
A lovely item and keepsake.
It made us all smile:)

Pat's Hat Brooch

Pat made this embellished felt brooch to go on her

new felt hat.

The studio lady was more than happy to model it for her.

Pat has made two more from the same piece of embellished felt,

all are totally unique.

Well done! Pat.

Purple Embellished Detail

There were so many areas of interest in the
purple embellished textile
but I liked this one due to the movement of stitches.
I used many different types of fabrics to get thedifferent
textures.
I have used various machine stitches as details,
over the top of the embellished felted fabrics.

Business Cards

I have had a really busy and interesting week.
I had to pick up another lot of business cards from Prontoprint in Kings Lynn on Wednesday.
I am still using the Blue Moon image as it has been so well recieved.
It was also The Embroidery Guild meeting.
The stitch challenge was announced. The stitches and rules for each stitch were all put in a bag and we had to pick them out by lucky dip. I got blanket stitch, random size in a circle.
We've got until May meeting to complete our square so they can all be put together for the Exhibition at the Museum.

Spring Is Nearly Here

Sent off some more ATC's this morning and then spent the rest of the day having a studio clear up as I have some visitors who want to come and see my creative space! may even make a video of my space to put on my site as others have asked about

Quilters Cottage Studio.

I have found loads of treasure and UFO's, this felt piece was one of them so I free- motion stitched all over it. I feel it needs more embellishment with glitter threads and embroidery but only had a few hours before tea and the family.

Off to Cottenham 'Textiles in Focus' near Cambridge, tomorrow with Mum and Jenn.A girls inspirational day out and Sunday dinner being cooked for when we get home, feel very lucky!

Made Embellished Felt

After making a stew for tea I settled down to embellish!! This felt was made the layered and wet method during the Summer last year. I make a batch of different colour backgrounds. I embellished this one with twisted wool tops with the Embellisher and then embroidered and beaded. I love the feel of stitching made felt.
I think I will continue to embellish further at another time.

Blue Moon Brooch

I can now show you the Blue Moon Brooch I made for my friend's Birthday. I see her tonight at our once a month get together with The Coven Quilters. Hope she likes it!
As of all the things I make, each one is unique but I will be selling a small range of these brooches in various colours shortly.
I am in the process of beading them at the moment.

Embellishment with Jewels

When there were gaps in visitors yesterday at the Gallery I was working on the green sheer embellishments, inspired by the lacy leaves of the flower I found at the weekend. I was asked how I do the embroidered rings with the jewels in them so have put theinstructions on my main website under STITCH heading down the right hand side, if you would like to know how.
