Toftwood Art Exhibition

Pat asked at The Textile Tuesday Class if anyone would
like to demonstrate at the local Art Exhibition.
I said yes. Pat said she was going to take the
Embelisher machine so I thought I would do the
hand felting method so we could show the difference.
People were fascinated we were felting and what we were creating.
It was lovely to share and chat to people at the show.
Sylvia came along in the afternoon and she demonstrated
bobbin lace. Beautiful! This is one of those crafts I am
not going to stray into because I know it will envelope time.
I will just watch and admire :)

Carol' Embellishing

Carol has been busy using her Embellisher Machine she got for Christmas.
I introduced Carol to the Embellisher Machine at Textile Tuesdays and on the
Level One Creative Textiles Course.
She has just taken off and made the skill her own.
Using the Embellished fabric as a base
she then adds machine stitch and lots of
embellishments like beads, sequins, buttons and additions.
These additions often take the form of melted plastic and papers!
We do have fun recycling!

Embellishing

These two pieces were made by two ladies who came along
to the afternoon session on Tuesday.
It was Sue and her Grand Daughter Emily.
They didn't quite know what to do
but soon got stuck in Emily on the embellisher
making a piece of embellished fabric which later
we made into a fancy cuff, including, machine embroidery
and a flap with a button hole for the fashener.
Sue had a go at free machining and got to grips with the
movement and then
made the flowers above, on the embellisher machine.
Both seemed to have a lovely session and had
want to come back again.
