Coven Quilters

I do love going to meet up with the girls of  Coven Quilters.
We have so much to catch up on each month and so much to share.
We laugh, cry, put the world to rights
and stitch or knit.
Well, Joan is crocheting at the moment!
Kate has been making a cat quilt for her grand daughter.
Jane has been making lots of baby quilts and
Barbara brought along a quilt that had been donated for
the MS Trust. We had a real discussion on how much a quilt
would sell if it was auctioned and where it could go to
get the best result for the lady who donated it and the trust who
would receive the funds.
It is so hard to predict at the moment due to the times.
I feel now, that you make a quilt for donation and give it.
You know the people you give it to try their best
for their charity and that is all you can do.
Make and give with love and care.
Our best wishes
to Barbara and Mike who are needing TLC at this time and
Thank you to the Coven Girls!

Kates Quilt

Well back to creating and quilting.
Look at Kate's quilt.
She has finished the top and isn't it stunning.
I showed you images earlier in the year.
This quilt is for her son.
We think we need a layering meeting to sandwich the
top wadding and backing together at my studio
as the quilt is almost as big as Kate's sitting room.
The pattern is based on Persian carpets.
Well done Kate!
We all agreed when finished it needs to go in Exhibition!

Animal Quillo

I have really enjoyed playing with animal fabrics
and using them in traditional style quilts.
This is ready for the backing and a cushion as
it will be a quillo.
This will go into the Quilt Exhibition too!

Animal Single Quilt with Red Squares

I started cutting this out last week and piecing it together.
I used all the animal fabrics that I had collected
and have been given over the years.
They were really fun because of all of the colours and faces!
It is has now been sandwiched together and quilted.
I used a random quilting stitch all over.
Just the borders to do, bias binding and a label.
It will go in the Alveva Quilting Exhibition,
as one of the quilts for sale quilts.
